Why must I be a registered member of your gallery
to submit a comment?
Q. What does the lightbox button do?
A. Your favorite ABV gallery images can be stored for future
reference in your own personal lightbox. You can store any image in
your lightbox by simply clicking on the lightbox button associated with
the image. At any time in the future, to view the images you've stored,
simply click on the Lightbox link located in the Registered User box
on the left side of each page.
Q. Why is the lightbox button disabled?
A. Since being a registered member is required, the lightbox
button will be disabled when you are not logged in. Once you login,
the lightbox button will become active.
Q. Why must I be a registered member of your
gallery to use the lightbox feature?
A. First, truthfully... that is how the basic gallery script
was written and I didn't have the time to modify the script to remove
the requirement.
However, and more importantly, by registering, you will be able to
access your lightbox from any computer with Internet access, simply
by logging into your gallery account. No cookies are required on your
computer to store the information.
If I were to remove the registration requirement, the location of your
lightbox would be stored as a cookie on the computer you were using
when you selected the image for inclusion in your lightbox. You would
not be able to access your lightbox from any other computer. Also, if
you were to clean out your cookie bin, you would loose your lightbox
information. And, finally, if you have cookies disabled on your browser,
you would not be able to store any images into a lightbox at all.
Q. Why must I be a registered member of your
gallery to submit a comment?
A. I apologize for this inconvenience. I would prefer that you
did not have to register to submit a comment. Unfortunately, I was forced
to require registration for comments due to large amounts of nasty spam
being written in my comments. Thank goodness, requiring registration
to submit a comment has stopped the spam. Please, if you would like
to submit a comment please feel free to register. I do not use the registration
information for anything. It only helps to verify legitimate visitors and not spambots or spammers.
